F.A.Q.

Do you work with all types of companies?2024-07-08T19:45:42-04:00

Not quite. We know it sounds weird, but our company is small and Harmony prefers to keep it that way. At least for now.

Getting results for clients takes intense focus and intentional work. To create the most happy-making business possible, we choose to work only with companies and entrepreneurs truly ready to do the work.

“Hey, I thought you guys were doing the work?”

Yes, but working together is a partnership. Chasing clients down to do their part (for example) quickly gets uncomfortable for both sides. And it uses time we could otherwise spend on helping those who are focused and ready.

We love working with ethical, focused companies and individuals. But we prefer long-term relationships and only take on clients truly committed to devoting the resources (time, energy, money) to improving their service company’s results.

I’m busy. How do you protect my time when working together?2024-07-05T23:27:18-04:00

Our President is busy too, leaping tall buildings in a single bound running three companies in a day. (One of them helps professionals release the stress from their tissues to prevent career issues.)

You’ve got to be pretty efficient to do that. So trust us, we get protecting your time and literal sanity.

To help us all protect our mental health and better enjoy our business day, we do things like:

  • explainer vids instead of meetings
  • scheduled meetings instead of phone tag
  • digital support instead of impromptu calls
  • email instead of texting
  • project management tools instead of random project updates.

If you have other ideas that can help you specifically, just let us know.

How long will “it” take? I would like “it” ASAP.2024-07-05T22:42:31-04:00

Well, it depends on what “it” is. But generally, it takes a few days to a few weeks to deliver the services we provide. But drill down from the What We Do page for specific timelines for each service.

Unless we’re completely slammed (which we try to avoid, but it happens), it rarely takes longer than 6 weeks.

If you need “it” sooner than we’ve quoted you, remember that you can order Rush service (if we have the capacity). Usually, that adds 50% to the project cost. But please ask for a Rush quote for your specific service. 👌🏾

Why does your phone usually go to voicemail?2024-07-05T22:37:58-04:00

Short Answer: Not unless we’re expecting your call. We’re a (very) small company, we run lean, we do the Real Work, and we stay focused. And phone tag sucks for everyone.

Why not?

  1. Well, 70% of calls are spam; 25% are answered on our website. We schedule the remaining 5% of legit calls likeyours, to keep us both efficient. Remember, part of our job is helping YOU be less scattered, more organized, and able to get better results with less work. We’re sucking at that if we’re engaging in phone tag.
  1. Web strategy is deep focus work and the President handles detailed calls. We’d have to charge you more to pay her to take time away from strategizing. And she’d likely just refer you to something on the website anyway. And although we also stay efficient with the same type of systems we build for you… she’s still a human running three companies. This makes regular chats hard. (She’s also got some social anxiety and general “hermitude” … but that’s what Energetic Harmony is for. 😉)
  1. Most projects are fixed-rate. Fixed rate clients don’t like it when we start charging by the hour because we’ve gone over our hourly quota on inefficient communication. (No surprises: This is straight outta our Service Agreement.)
  1. Phone tag f#%king sucks for everyone. (Did we say that already?)

When best, we schedule phone and video chats or record walkthrough videos to protect your time. We’re also super-thorough and quick by email, voice note, and chat. We only work with people we love working with anyway, so we probably can’t wait to talk with you anyway!

I’ve paid for my website, but I need to pay more before it goes live. Why?2024-07-05T22:37:27-04:00

Because no one will ever see your website if we don’t have any place to put it.

That “place” is your web host, which is probably what we need you to cover. It’s required for all website projects you’d like us to take live.

Think of it like this:

  • Website = House
  • Web Host(ing Account) = Land
  • Domain Name = Street Address

We build your house. But it’s on someone else’s land until you buy your own land for us to place it on.

And just like houses have coordinates, every website does, too. To avoid pointing your leads and clients to a wonky address like https://192.3.068.1/~somepageyou’ll need a domain name to cover those “coordinates” so people can easily find you.

You could also think of a domain like a vanity phone number: Instead of 1-202-345-6789, you might have 1-202-AWESOME. But for websites, the “vanity number” (domain name) is the accepted standard. We never use coordinates. It would be super-weird if you gave someone a bunch of numbers and dots to find your company!

Why do you need my company’s billing info?2024-07-05T22:37:10-04:00

To be able to set up recurring services we don’t provide, like website hosting, domain name, domain email address(es), online scheduling, marketing automation accounts, and more.

How much is _______ or what are your starting rates?2024-07-05T22:36:57-04:00

When possible, we list starting rates right on the service pages. Please check the What We Do page, then drill down from there.

But as a general rule, rates range from $200 one-time (ex: for the first strategic consult) and $300 for tiny projects (site update, troubleshooting, quick research, etc.).

Could you just bill me for _________ services you’re setting up?2024-07-05T22:36:43-04:00

Because recurring services — like web hosting, domain names, and email services — require a billing method on file.

To avoid admin and accounting issues, we don’t use our billing methods to pay for clients’ recurring services. (Ex: If a client ordered a website, but then didn’t reimbursed us OR didn’t provide their billing info, we’d be stuck with both the bill and an account we didn’t want.)

To guard against this sort of time-consuming hassle and bad juju, only your company’s billing methods are used to sign up for your recurring services. But we can and often do invoice for one-time expenses.

What if I have questions after my consult or project is over?2024-07-04T17:46:49-04:00

Once projects are closed and services are delivered, we’re happy to help free for ~7 calendar days. (Your timeline for free support may be different. To be sure, check your closing project report, email, etc. If you can’t find it, just ask.)

Following that, you can sign up for a monthly support plan OR a pay-as-you-go project.

Why? Well, it’s literally, humanly impossible to offer free support to every past and current client for the life of their business. Even if it’s seemingly simple, “Hey, I lost my password!” requests. (For those, you should please seek support from the website you’re trying to log into anyway.)

So, no matter the support request, we can only help with it when you’re under an optional support plan or currently active project.

I’m having a financial crisis. Can we still work together?2024-07-04T17:42:44-04:00

Maybe. We might be open to a full or partial barter. That means you give us your products, services, or referrals to cover all or some of your project or consulting rates. Just write us with your offer and let’s discuss.

However, please also consider that we need at least 6 to 12 months of savings socked away to live comfortably when starting a business. Starting a business to make money quickly / when desperate for money is often a recipe for disaster. 😥

I need phone support. How can I call you?2024-07-04T17:40:41-04:00

Phone support is offered minimally, and for active projects only.

After the initial consult, Harmony or a team member may call you for quick things, like helping us through your 2FA (two-factor authentication) to log into your online accounts.

Otherwise, to keep costs, (wo)manpower, and stress low, most support is offered through:

  • 1, thorough emails,
  • 2, voicemails,
  • 3, explainer videos, or
  • 4, prescheduled online appointments.

Just write us for an appointment or with your question.

If that can’t work for you, you may want to consider a larger (more expensive) African American-owned web results studio with more team members.
